Thoughts from a new Mom...
Anyway, it has been a very long time since we have updated this thing so I think it is safe to assume that Josie has finally arrived!! Haha.
She was very stubborn and apparently quite comfortable, so after week 41 the doctors decided I should be induced. (Did I mention that Josie was very stubborn yet?) :0) After 17 hours of labor with no progress past 8 centimeters, she was delivered via C-Section and was born at 3:46am on 5/21/2008.
She is absolutely beautiful and perfect in every way (Well... except for the hours between 5-9pm where she screams her little head off!) But even then... I just love her so much! I have wanted to be a mom for so long and I always felt that it was my calling and now I finally feel like I am living my vocation. I have a wonderful marriage and God has given us the most amazing gift, and while I have been told by many that I will feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and maybe even "the blues"... I am feeling the exact opposite. I feel fantastic, and exhilarated and truly happy! I remember having a discussion at bible study one night and we were all a little frustrated because we are supposed to "listen to God" and do His will, not our own. But how? None of us ever seem to "hear" what he is telling us to do. We all agreed that life would be a whole lot easier of He were to actually pull us aside, speak clearly, and tell us exactly the next move to make... We wait for God to tell us what we should be doing and I can honestly say that I have never fully "heard" Him until now. I am doing His will. This is absolutely what God has called me to do and I am so thankful that He has chosen Jay and I to fulfill this role together!

Oh my goodness...she is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for updating your blog. I've been checking everyday to see if you've put a picture or two of your little angel on here...and now you have. Your words were perfect. God's calling to us can be hard to hear sometimes...but I've always found the best time to really listen is when you are looking into the eyes of your beautiful child(ren). God Bless you and your family.
Jay & Jaime,
Congratulations on the arrival of your little bundle of joy! I also have been checking your blog looking for photos of Josie! Jaime, I'm so happy for you that you have a little girl to have and hold, a blessing indeed! Motherhood, a true vocation!
Love,
April V.
